Tulsi Gabbard Steps Down as DNI, Citing Husband’s Cancer Battle
US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is resigning from her position on June 30 to help her husband after he was diagnosed with bone cancer. As she said herself, she couldn’t possibly stay in such an important job with all the challenges and responsibilities, given his health condition. President Trump thanked her for her contributions to the job and said that her deputy Aaron Lukas will take her place. It’s surprising since, despite her powerful position within US intelligence services, she stayed out of sight amid US military actions in Iran, Cuba, and Venezuela.
